2026 theme: We're braver together

Last year’s Moomin Parade featured the Moomin family – Moomintroll, Moominmamma and Moominpappa – inspired by the very first Moomin book, Moomins and the Great Flood.

This year marks 80 years since Comet in Moominland – the second Moomin book – was published in 1946.

The Comet in Moominland a tale full of adventure, curiosity and a little bit of danger. A comet is heading straight for Moominvalley, and everyone reacts differently: some worry, some wonder, some talk about the universe… and Moomintroll and his friends do what they do best: set off together to learn more.

Moomin stories remind us that we don’t have to face the unknown alone. Even when things feel dark or uncertain, there’s strength in friendship, kindness and working together, just as we are, differences and all. We’re braver together 💙
