Celebrating 80 years of Moomins in Brussels!
2025 marks the 80th anniversary since the first Moomin tale was published by Finnish author Tove Jansson.
A parade with Moomin characters will stroll the streets of the European district, filling the European Commission’s neighborhoods with music, performances and adventures around the classic Moomin tales.

There will be organized program in the park throughout the afternoon, with the Moomin Parade as the highlight of the day.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

About the event
Event Map
The parade will kick off at 14:00 with official opening at Square Ambiorix. The parade will circulate around the European Quartier, returning back to Square Ambiorix for more program.
Program Outline
The event includes a program in the park of Square Ambiorix and a festive procession led through Rue Archimede that will turn into the official Parade Street – and around the European Commission. The event will feature live Moomin characters that will join the festivities and be available for children to meet and greet. The park will have live music, book readings in multiple languages and small activities for children to join.
