The essentials of the parade

What makes the perfect parade? Check out our favourite tips for Saturday!

1. Moomin Balloons! Let the balloon float home with you, becoming a rather fine home companion for the days to follow. And we’ve even heard some make it to permanent status, carefully framed and proudly displayed as wall art ✨

   Like a balloon from parade joy to everyday companion, Moomins have a way of sticking around and staying in your heart 💚

   Balloon sales is organized by WARNED (We Are Retired Not Expired) at the parc of Square Ambiorix, starting 10am on Saturday 9th of May.

   Last year the balloons sold out. This year, more balloons are available but please note the availability is still a limited, so come early to ensure to get yours!

2. Music! The Moomin Parade will be led by a walking orchestra, that paves the way for the Moomins. Like last year, also the 2026 parade will be entertained by the brilliant @Fanfare du Mayboom 2.0 with their great energy and musical talent.

3. Moomin activities! This year again, we have arranged various Moomin-themed activities for kids to enjoy! Green Snorkmaiden, yellow Moominpappa, pink Stinky… Anything is possible! Stop by the coloring station of Square Ambiorix and create your own version of Moominvalley and your favorite characters.
   

   

4. Meet & Greet with the moomins 💙

   A picture with Moomins has no age limit!

   Mum, dad and grandma are definitely allowed too – and little siblings, big cousins and everyone in between. The Moomins are excellent at family photos, group hugs and making everyone feel welcome.
